Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Jonathan M. Lewis, Jr., Senior Pastor
Saved at 13 and called by God at an early age, The Reverend Jonathan M. Lewis, Jr. finds joy and purpose in preaching, teaching, and shepherding God’s people. He was licensed to preach the Gospel in October 2013 and later ordained to the Gospel ministry in November 2017, faithfully committing his life to Christ’s mission of service, discipleship, and community transformation.
An emerging voice with a heart for both the church and the community, Pastor Lewis has been blessed with opportunities to share the Gospel in diverse settings, bringing clarity, conviction, and compassion to people across generations.
Pastor Lewis is a proud graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Management and Business Administration, graduating Summa Cum Laude. His academic journey continues at The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, where he is pursuing the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree in preparation for deeper service in preaching, teaching, and pastoral leadership.
In June 2025, Rev. Lewis was elected the 10th Senior Pastor of the St. Paul Baptist Church in Somerville, New Jersey. With gratitude and humility, he embraces this call as both a sacred trust and a profound responsibility. His vision for ministry is rooted in sound preaching, vibrant worship, intentional discipleship, and a commitment to community engagement.
Rev. Lewis is joyfully married to Phylicia Lewis for nine years, and together they are the proud parents of one son, Christian Talbert, who brings light and laughter into their home. His family remains his greatest earthly blessing and constant source of encouragement.
Pastor Lewis leads with the conviction that the church must remain faithful to the Gospel while courageously responding to the needs of today’s world. With a passion for equipping believers and reaching the lost, he seeks to model servant-leadership marked by integrity, compassion, and excellence. Above all, he counts it a privilege to serve God, God’s Church, and God’s people.
